Instead of a regular Monday review, today I’m going to introduce you to some of the features you can expect to see on BHCB in the future.
TLM and TLMR chats
Group chats about drama transcribed here for your amusement. You've had a taste of this already with the March and April WWW posts. A proper introduction to these will make an appearance next week.
Behind the Fiction
In which historical people in dramas are examined and their drama portrayals compared to the historical accounts. Such as the various versions of Yi Seong-gye, the founder of Joseon. Or Choe Yeong, the general who opposed him.
Toppled Tropes
Spotlighting dramas that turn cliches on their heads and breathe new life into them. Healer and City Hunter will be among the first ones discussed (and possibly squealed over... one can't really mention either one without squealing at least a tiny bit).
Dream Casts
Dream casting literature adaptations, sequels to existing kdramas and remakes of movies from other countries. We'd love to see the works of Jane Austen, Georgette Heyer, Anthony Hope, Rafael Sabatini and Louisa May Alcott (to name a few) given a kdrama twist.
30-Day Asian Drama Challenges
In June we'll be doing a 30-Day Asian Drama challenge, where we answer 30 questions about Asian dramas. Sometime this fall, we'll probably also do a second version- using different questions. We'd love to have you join us both times!
Historical Dramas Timeline
Sometime in the next month, we'll also introduce a page devoted to a historical timeline of Asian dramas- Korean, Chinese and Japanese; which will be updated as more historical dramas premiere.
See this page for a easy reference guide to all of these features.
Happy Drama Watching and may you enjoy reading these upcoming posts!
